Reflections on the theme of “unchurched”:
-
It’s not Christians who are leaving the church. The ones who are no longer being church are the ecclesiastical companies.
-
I never left the church. It’s this thing people call “church” that left me.
-
I do find the “title” offensive and pejorative. I feel bad when people call me that, because in 90% of cases it’s some “churched” person who uses this term, and almost always to segment and judge the group of those who chose not to attend church anymore.
-
Nigga, bichola, four-eyes, nerd, Bugs Bunny, geek, and other “nicknames” are never pejorative for those who aren’t part of the group or for those who use this to refer to others.
- I think those who are part of it are the ones who have to say how they feel.
….
“Finally, follow Paul’s own advice: Don’t become partners with those who reject God. There’s no way to partner between right and wrong. It’s not partnership: it’s war. Is light friends with darkness? Does Christ stroll with the Devil? Do truth and lies walk hand in hand? Who would think to put pagan idols in God’s holy temple?
Because that’s exactly what we are — each one of us is a temple, and God lives in us. He himself said:
I will live in them and move among them; I will be their God and they will be my people.
So set aside corruption and partnerships, leave everything once and for all, says God.
Don’t associate with those who will drag you into the filth.
I want all of you for me. I will be a father to you and you will be sons and daughters to me.
